SEIZING MORE WELL-BEING AND LONGEVITY THROUGH PASSION
It is a scientific fact that people who are happy live longer and are healthier. How can you enhance your happiness? Time spent doing what you are passionate about is probably an excellent place to start. For some people that is volunteering, giving of your time, which has been shown to have many health benefits. Research has shown that people who volunteer often live longer. Feeling happy, which is the end result of passion, raises endorphin levels and natural killer cell activity. Taking your focus from your own life challenges and regularly directing your attention to a ‘good cause’ or your passion, is good for you on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. Sometimes its as simple as getting out of your own ‘soap opera’ for a while, allowing your mind time off from all your personal challenges.
SO WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?
For some passion is about doing, for others it’s creating or collecting. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Collecting dolls, figurines, coins, etc.
- Mountain climbing
- Scrap booking
- Model cars and planes
- Discover a hobby
- More hobbies
