If you suffer from food allergies, TILT, EI, MCS, depression, migraines or other skewed body response physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually; my last post is a must read.

On a daily basis many people are triggered regularly by numerous triggers.  Believe it or not the triggers can be anything.  Your equivalent ‘little black box’ records real and perceived threats and history about many factors that have harmed you in the past.  In present day your body may mount a ‘skewed’ or abnormal response to similar triggers, real or perceived – leading to unwanted symptoms on any level.  Some triggers present physical symptoms while others may affect thinking, memory or brain chemistry. Some triggers send people into ballistic emotional responses.

You may know people who are affected by changes in barometric pressure, experiencing migraines or joint pain or others who are affected by the full moon. Why is every person not affected by changes in barometric pressure?

Using neuromuscularbiofeedback I have been able to assess my triggers on an ongoing basis and those of my clients, and work to stop or reprogram any ‘skewed’ or abnormal responses.  How do I do it?  There are several methods.  The best time to stop these triggered responses is to manage them during an episode or exposure.  Tapping sequences and changing the valuation that my and my clients’ body and brain have given the triggers, neutralizes them by changing the valuation over time.  Using these steps in combination with other holistic strategies I have been able to recover from EI, TILT, MCS, depression, food allergies and more.  It is also how I help clients to recover from unwanted trigger responses. HOW TO AVOID DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES: For ‘a healthier you’!

dangerousOver the years, my many client neuromuscularbiofeedback sessions have provided information that has helped clients to implement ‘stop, start and change’ strategies; ultimately resulting in improved health.  After clients sessions I provide followup emails to clients with research based information links that back up many of their ‘weak list‘ challenges. Weak challenges are often the result of the body’s inability to effectively detoxify certain substances, even natural substances. Weak challenges can also indicate allergies, harmful or toxic substances. Sometimes the items on the weak list indicate a challenge resulting from combining a food item with a medication (e.g. grapefruit).

If you have any type of health challenges, including allergies and gastrointestinal distress, proceed with caution before following the latest health trends.  Investigate before you proceed. Adding suspect items may add challenges that could interfer with the body’s natural and necessary communication, function, immunosurveillance and immunoresponse. Adding multiple items on a daily basis increases these health challenges.

Weakness to green tea:  Green tea is often on my client’s weak lists despite the fact that is found to have many health benefits.  My thoughts are that in the case of my clients, who usually come to me with major health challenges, is that it possibly challenges their liver’s already challenged detoxification pathways.

A weak list assessment is a valuable tool to provide you with a ‘weak list’ of foods and other items that your body is unable to tolerate (possibly detoxify).

MY HEALTH RECOVERY: The butterfly effect is the belief that small changes over time can create huge life changes.

When I am not busy with my other life responsibilities I like to use the creative side of my brain to keep it active.  I painted this saying on an old picture from a thrift shop. I hope that it inspires you to belief and expect more is possible in terms of your health.

My recovery from multiple health challenges (environmental illness – EI, toxicant induced loss of tolerance – TILT, multiple chemical sensitivities – MCS, chronic fatigue – CF, severe gastrointestinal distress, irritable bowel – IB, stress sensitization, major depression, spasmodic dysphonis – SD) has taken a long time. The good news is that I now have good health and I can live and function in the real world and work.

My recovery path took many small changes over time and the resulting end product – good health, still amazes me at times; especially when I see other people still struggling with diagnoses that they were given decades ago.

Sometimes I forget how ill I really was. A blessing for sure!

I am revisiting my multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS), toxicant induced loss of tolerance (TILT), environmental illness (EI), chronic fatigue (CF), multiple food allergies, irritable bowel, depression, seasonal affected disorder (SAD), stress sensitization and spasmodic dysphonia diagnoses today.  I am often reminded about how severely ill and affected I was by these conditions when I get inquires from all over the world asking for help from those still suffering.

All of the preceding diagnoses (plus more) were given to me in the past. I suffered severely for many years and I now have good health and feel good. I can eat all foods and feel save in many environments, avoiding toxic environments as everyone should.

On my journey to good health I tried many strategies, always looking for ‘the cure’.  Like many people I read every article about the latest supplement and cures and spent a lot of money on trying them.  From today’s view point it is clear to see that one cannot regain their health by merely supplementing/adding on something; one must start at the very beginning. Regaining health requires implementation of a series of  ‘stop, start and change’ strategies. The biggest challenge, in ‘hind sight’ and from the successes of my clients has been knowing ‘what do you stop, start and change‘. That’s were my road map can help you.

GASTROINTESTINAL DISTRESS: The Quest For Symptom Relief

There was a time when I was doubled over in agony every time I ate. It took me years of trial and error strategies and research to get to where I am today, free of all food allergies and gastrointestinal distress.  At one time I reacted to every food and chemical, many of them causing me gastrointestinal distress. Food allergy testing showed reactions immediate and delayed to more than 88 foods.

Symptom relief was crucial to being able to function on a daily basis as I had a young family to take care of. To achieve 100% elimination of my gastrointestinal distress I had to look deeper and deal with the underlying issues. Symptoms are only the ‘tip of the iceberg’. The underlying ‘base of the iceberg’ issues must be resolved to achieve 100% symptom relief. Symptomatic relief is a ‘band aid’ not a solution!

There are many additional possible underlying causes such as endocrine disruption, emotional trauma and associations. Underlying causes can all be remedied by following the recommendations in my holistic protocol in my book below.

Consider the following for temporary relief of symptoms:

Buffered Vitamin C — Your first line of defence against a food reaction is Buffered Vitamin C in powdered form. Mix one teaspoon of the powder in a glass of water. Drink. If there is no relief or improvement in 15 minutes, try the following remedy:  

Baking Soda — Mix one teaspoon in a glass of water. Drink. This will provide relief in almost all cases of food reactions.  (I recommend starting with 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon.)

Alka Seltzer Gold   A natural antacid   

DGL “de-glycyrrhizinated” licorice root,  is used for conditions of the digestive tract, such as ulcers ” (I used a lot of this for GI relief)
